Meet Marika

Hello there!  I’m Marika, the artist behind Marika H Photography.  I think life is beautiful and too short, so it needs to be lived to its fullest every moment.  I enjoy an energetic lifestyle and was born with a ‘travel bug’.  I love languages and all foods vegetarian. My two biggest weaknesses are that I can never follow through with any attempts to give up coffee or chocolate.

I grew up in rural Russia and moved to the United States after I graduated with a double major in linguistics and psychology.    After a few years at an office job I realized that was not what I wanted to do in the long run, but it wasn’t until I had my first son in 2010 that I discovered my love of photography.

Fast forward a few years, and my hobby has grown into a passion for working with teens and high school seniors to capture one of the most important, fun and challenging periods of their lives; to build their confidence by creating unique and beautiful images that reflect their personality.

I specialize in high school senior and teen photography in Williamsburg, VA; however, I reserve a few sessions for other types of photography as well.  I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be able to do what I love every day.
